Negri

If you have been looking at newspapers last week you surely have read about the former Sugababes star Mutya Buena being ordered to file for bankrupticy after failing to pay a tax bill. I wasn't quite able to properly shallow it. How can somebody who has earned millions during her life not be able to pay a tax bill? That is definitely unordinary. This weekend her dad Roberto Buena, spoke in an exclusive interview to the Daily Star. "You see my daughter is not educated. She left school at the age of 12 because she was with Universal Records. She hasn't had a job since 2005. She had a solo thing. She made a hit with Real Girl but that's it. She is not educated. She is a very good singer. A good entertainer but that finances is not her strong point. She gets scared of paperwork, of lawyers, of bailiffs and banks. She does not know what to do. She pretends that she knows. I pity the girl. Even when she is not working she is being charged tax penalties. The tax authorities have been charging her the same amount every year even though she has not worked since she had a baby." What he said summarised in a few words is that her daughter has not got a solid and consistent education, having left school aged 12, and she is not able to manage money. She is scared by her finances management. What a lesson to be learned! No matter how famous, successful in life you aspire to be, you need anyway a good education. So, stop complaining and write your essay! Anyway, as fans from the very beginning would have imagined, it is far from being an ordinary set of performances. In fact Demi, chose to positivelty inspire her fans again. Her opening act is not a singer or a band but a guy known as Spencer West. Spencer is a 31 year old Canadian author and motivational speaker, who lost both his legs, aged just 5, due to genetic disorder. During his life, he learnt not to surrender and to be as positive and dynamic as possible. He also collaborated with "Save the Children" raising £ 300000 in donations and managed to climb Kilimanjaro. By touring with Demi, he hopes to convey joyous messages and to teach young generations not to stop and to enjoy life at the most. Post by Demi Lovato. Even if you are not into the fashion blogging world, you surely have heard at least once in your life about a 25 year old blondie known as Chiara Ferragni. Born in Cremona (Italy) she went into the fashion world in 2009, opening her blog http://www.theblondesalad.com/ (currently available in Italian, English and Portuguese) which has been recently valued at 8 million euro. After getting noticed from the right people and the right time and gaining popularity online, she entered the modelling industry, launched her own clothing line (http://www.chiaraferragnicollection.com) and wrote her first book, which carries the same title as her blog. This article is not about judging Chiara's fashion taste or her poshiness. It is about recognising what kind of lesson she gave us all. She has told us that today, we should really make a move. In order to emerge from the crowd we must be willing to take some risk, be dynamic, be restless and also not be afraid to follow our passions. There is no bigger drawback to somebody's carrier and life than wasting time complaining or criticising others. It is no use crying on split milk. Everybody should be aware that the only possibile way to advance is being courageous and not listening to haters. In order to be successful, we can't be liked by everybody. Ferragni seems to have understood that! Well done Chiara, wish you the best of luck in the future! Well, Ariana has definitely got a heart apart from an amazing voice and a smiley face. Here, what she shared on Facebook this morning. "here are some dms I sent to a love named maya. posting em on here in hopes that maybe they'll be helpful to some of u loves that can relate! I know I can. please be good to u. life is a gift and there is no need to waste it hating on the things we can't control. as hard as that can be. try to focus more on improving the things we actually can control / change.... our outlook, our state of mind, our ego, the way we treat others, the way we treat ourselves, showing more appreciation, not giving into our fears, the way we react to obstacles, etc.. some of the most important work we do during our time here on this earth is the work we do on ourselves. and it's hard work too. love youuuu tons" I understand that maybe you are going to say the whole thing is just a marketing campaign. Neverthless is good knowing that there is somebody famous, who tries to convey positive messages instead of just trying to "show-off"! (if your mind went to Rihanna, you got it right!) Well done Ariana. You really rock! INTRODUCTION Drama, impatience and Twitter. These 3 words, in my opinion, sum up what today's society is about. Drama because we tend to make a big fuss even of the smallest and less relevant things. Impatience because apparently we lost the ability to wait. We want everything and straight away. Somebody more famous than I am said that wainting for something plaesant is the real pleasure. This seems just not to apply nowadays! Twitter becasue we like staying connected 24/7, being exposed to the risk of living two separate lives: a real one and a digital one. TODAY'S VALUES Society today has undoubtedly got a bigger variety of values than 50 or 100 years ago. This transaltes in the fact that choosing the right ones now is more difficult. It can really be nervewrecking for a teenager to follow the right path when so large choice is available. For this reason everybody in his young years needs guidance.Guidance that should come from parents, relatives, teachers and even sources of inspiration held by the kids. The quality of guidance you are given really shapes the man or woman you will be in the future. It is important not ot expose teens to messages and content not suitable to them whatever source they are coming from (music industry, films, tv etc) This doens't mean that if you are 25, you do not need somebody to drive you. It is advisable for everybody, to have a source of inspiration, no matter of what kind (a book, a friend, an actor, a singer etc). I don't agree with who says that today's society is based on a bunch of rotten values. In my view, when it comes to values, it is a choice and like all choices there are people who opt for the worst possibilty and others who opt for the best. SOCIAL MEDIA A distinguishing trait of our society is definitely the great role played by social media. We like to be connected 24/7, even though that could sometimes mean conducting two separate lives: a real one and a digital one. The messages conveyed via social media, especially by influencial people, shape our attitude, our personality and even our daily lives. Social media represent an opportunity (business marketing, conveying important messages etc) but also a threat especially to young citizens, who sometimes are exposed to material not suitable to their age or not in compliance with the values they are trying to follow. For this reason, when surfing the net, kids need supervision of somebody older, who can advise them on what to see and tìwhat not to see. If used correctly, social media can really be something to be proud of! BEING CITIZENS OF THE WORLD We live in an interconnected world and as a result we can talk of a world-wide society. This means that we should coinceive ourselves as citizens of the world rather than citizens of a single nation. It is high time to broaden our mentality and understand that it doesn't matter if you were born in France or in the USA. We all live on the same planet! The social media are undoubtedly helping us in realising that. We should not be afraid to explore the world and get in touch with different cultures. Only by broadening our knowledge, our mind and setting new boundaries we can be successful! Do you agree with me? Do you have a different account about today's society? Share your opinion In today's society we are constantly exposed to content conveyed via social networks and other media, which, even though some people don't notice, play a mayor role in shaping our life, our attitude and our personality. As a result, the way influencial people (celebrities, politicians etc) use these means, has a considerable effect on our daily lives. Especially for youngsters, who sometimes see in a singer or even a football player their source of inspiration. Considering what said before, in my opinion, famous personalities have a duty to fullfill. It is to spread the correct message, driving young citizens on the right path. Unfortunately very few VIP seem to agree with me. I remember Lady Gaga singing in a dress made out of just raw meat (which was a waste of food and horrendous at the same time), or Rihanna posting video of herself smoking. It so rare to find somebody really influencial, who has got a brain and a heart apart from a bank account. For this reason we need more celebrities like Demi Lovato on this planet. She has understood that, being famous, she can spread messages of hope and faith to a very big audience and can also try to help others currently in trouble. Now, she is helping people with mental health problem to pull through by sharing her story. She understood that it was not going to be any better if she did not share her past. She is the living example that whatever problem you are facing, you should never stop fighting because there is always a solution available. If she sorted her life, you can do it and everybody can do it! I am very disappointed instead with what Rihanna is doing. She was really promising as an artist and a woman but turned out to be a proper delusion. I am not one of her supporters any more! If you want to know more about Demi Lovato's story read this article by THE HUFFINGTON POST http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/30/demi-lovato-childhood-depression_n_5241422.html Yesterday private pictures of the American sensation Jennifer Lawrence and other 100 celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton surfaced online following an alleged ICloud bug exploitation by an hacker. Today, the celebrities involved and their managers took their chance to speak and most, like Ariana Grande, said that the images are completely fake. Jennifer Lawrence's ones instead seem to be true and her spokeperson said "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence”. Now, this article is not about IT vulnerabilities or whether the leaks are true or false. This piece is about observating the state of our society. I think, we should all answer to these questions: Are there people who get excited by leaking private pictures of celebrities!?! And are there people satisfied after passively staring at them. Being a VIP right now means having no private life at all? Unfortunately the answer to 3 questions seems "Yes" to me. Our society is profoundly changing thanks also to media and IT but sometimes not for the better! It is not really important whether the pictures are real or not, what this absurd event can teach us is that we are losing focus on what really matters in life (friends, family, good food etc.) and are trying to be happy by doing something not really helpful for us. Life isn't about living or ruining the life of somebody else. Everybody should live his own existence and do something productive, no matter how little, for humanity! If you, like the hacker, would have got excited doing something like that you should probably reflect on the values you believe in and maybe you will discover you are losing the real fun! If you want more information on the leak, read this article by the Independent http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/jennifer-lawrence-naked-photos-spark-fear-of-mass-celebrity-hacking-9702902.html?f Kim Kardashian's outfit at the VMA surely didn't pass unobserved. No matter your sex you surely remember her flaunting her curves in a really low cut black, white and red dress which left little to imagination. As it always happens in these occasions, her dressing choice sparked a heated debate between people trying to defend her and other trying to condamn her. Recently, the famous american sensation Demi Lovato, expressed her opinion saying: "Kim revolutionazed our generation's view of what beatiful is". In other word Demi said that Kim by choosing so revealing outfits for her public appereances helps girls to be more confident about their body and changed our idea of beatuiful = ultra thin. What Lovato says is definitely true, but at the same time raises one question: "Are role models like Kim, which are massive in the US also thanks to TV programs like "Keeping up with the Kardashians", going to create the idea that being sexy necessarely means showing off your "assets" "? Maybe that could be the case. Being a boy, I would be a lier if I said that seeing Kim at VMAs on my TV screen wasn't amazing, but at the same time I thought :"What kind of message is she conveying to young generations?" Kim you really changed the idea of what beauty easy in our generation, but in order to be more helpful next time just stick to something more sober, which doesn't mean covering up all your curves. Ariana Grande's dressing choices at the VMAs could be a model for you! Her Moschino dress was just fabulous! What do you think? Share your opinion with us If you want to know more on this, please click here http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-body/news/demi-lovato-credits-kim-kardashian-with-changing-standards-of-beauty-2014298 In the past few weeks, the internet and the media in general have been bombarded with videos of famous and ordinary people throwing icy water on themselves, which is rather funny. The point is that very few people know what's behind this phenomenon. The ice bucket challenge rules provide that when you are nominated you either do the challenge in 24 hours time or donate to a charity, which does research on Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Anyway most people do both. Until now, this trend has been very prolific for ALS charities who saw huge rises in the amount of donations coming in, when taking into account last year's data (sometimes even 400% rises). My opinion is that the ice bucket challenge is something highly unusual but very attractive from a social point of view and is pointless saying that people shouldn't do it if they aren't donating. It's all about getting the trend bigger and bigger. More videos, more coverage on media and more people will eventually donate! Here's a video of Demi Lovato taking part to the challenge If you want more information on the topic give a look to this article by THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
